About Louis Sanders

Louis Sanders has received great acclaim for his crime writing. His novels and stories have been published in both French and English. He is also the author of screenplays. His latest novel is La Lecture du Feu (published 2011 by Rivages Noir).

His work is characterised by its unusual crime settings and meticulous research.

Brought up in Pigalle, Paris, Louis Sanders spent his childhood in an area famed for its sex trade and street life. The son of a professional boxer turned artist, and a writer, he grew up knowing the grifters, drifters and dreamers who inhabit the seedier streets of central Paris. He attended the universities of Sorbonne, St Andrews and Cambridge, and worked as a journalist and publisher before becoming a writer.
He is married and lives in South West France, where as well as writing, he is a volunteer fireman and paramedic.
